In 1903, most of Africa was consolidated into colonial empires, but the relationship between Ethiopia and America was different. It was founded upon no other intentions than to promote friendship and commerce between our two independent nations.

In 1991, in a windy city of Chicago, a group of Ethiopian immigrants met to bring about togetherness through playing soccer.
MEASA is run by a small group of people who are committed to cultivating a fellowship and community of Ethiopian Americans where we can gather and celebrate our heritage and traditions.

The Midwest Ethiopian-American Sport Association (MEASA) is non-profit, community based and social association, which exists to facilitate social, sport activities and to provide emotional support to all Ethiopian living in the United States of America, regardless of their religion, political believes, ethnic group or gender and to encourage all its members to fully integrate and participate in the social and economic life of greater America while embrace and promote the wonderful culture. MEASA strives to provide high quality social events, and soccer tournaments for all of Ethiopians and friends.
When MEASA tournament was inaugurated in 1993, our vision and objective was not only the game of soccer, it was to use the soccer tournament as a medium to showcase Ethiopian’s cultures and hospitality. Therefore, it is important that all team leaders, coaches and players to invite their friends to come out and take part at the 20th annual tournament and cultural event at Twin City Minnesota. We appreciate your participation in the past and contribution to Midwest growth. We are certain that you will join us for this special Midwest event. MEASA is giving you an opportunity to meet up with new and old friends, play your favorite sports and enjoy your traditional music and food.
The soccer complex is located less than 5 minutes from the airport. We have secured a park with 6 Professional soccer fields equipped with all the necessary items such as restrooms, vendor stands and bleachers for the supporters and soccer fans. The park is conveniently located from all the Ethiopian restaurants, Nashville International Airport and several hotels. All points of interested are in a radius of less than 5 miles
